Purpose of the program:

A six hour symposium designed with the intention of providing a venue for medical professionals to share practical, clinical, evidence-based information on the diagnosis and management of headache patients. This meeting will educate and update the participants on the latest approaches to the treatment of headache in adults and children.

Objectives:

After the symposium participants will be able to:

  • Describe and make use of the basics in diagnosis and treatment of life-threatening causes of headaches as well as migraine, trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias, and other primary headaches
  • Identify cases of headaches associated with life-threatening conditions
  • Contrast and compare differences in secondary versus primary headaches in order to optimize clinical outcomes
  • Identify major and recent therapies in Headache Medicine

Target Audience:

The symposium is designed for general practitioners, internists, pediatricians, neurologists, neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, physical therapists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other health professionals who treat headache.

CPD Accreditation:

This activity is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Category 1) as defined by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners – Accreditation Department and is approved for a maximum of 6 hours.
